Unasked advice for the FM

Given Alex Salmond’s remarks at the Indy X event in Dunfermline yesterday hinting at a categorical repudiation of the Section 30 process, and given that you will eventually have to do likewise if you are to hold a referendum that meets the required standards; and given that we can safely assume you don’t want to be seen to be following in Mr Salmond’s wake, it might be a good idea if you made some haste in order to preempt him.
